Updates On The Alfred Olango Case: A Community Panel And Forum

Alfred Olango was Shot by El Cajon Police Officer on September 27 by Richard Gonsalves. On Friday September 30 El Cajon Police Chief, Jeff Davis, the released video footage of the shooting. We get updates from a panel of community activists and educators, on the the case and what the next steps are as well as the balance between established organizations and grassroots community leadership, the cultural divides, and the connection between higher education and grassroots activism.

Panelists include:

  • Wilnisha Almond Sutton, AKA TRU7H(truth) – Artist, author and community activist,
  • Rumbie Mubaiwa – Resident and activist.
  • Mychal Odom – Doctoral Candidate and Adjunct Professor at San Diego City College and UCSD and Doctoral Candidate
  • Menuhati Kemma’atah – Community leader and activist,
  • “Kovu” – El Cajon resident, and community leader
  • Chris Jackson – Southeast San Diego resident and community activist.
